Our journey started January 6th, 2018, with a little harmless Facebook flirting that resulted in a 3-hour conversation. We first met at my place of employment The Home Depot (the home of husbands) lol.... I saw this man walking past me and I only saw the back of him, the view was magnific lol I knew I had to get him when I saw his walk.
Jeff had a daily routine when he came into the Home Depot, however as some of you know that routine changed once he met ME!! His thousands of trips were not for work or conversing with the staff anymore they were to stalk me all day (and I loved it). It did take a few visits for me to speak to him and once I did, we haven't stopped talking yet.
So, one day Jeff decides to ask me for my Facebook to look at my work (Cake Decorating) but guess what it's 2025 and he has yet to purchase that strawberry cream filled cupcake from me LOL. Now this is my story not his we all know his story will be slightly different.
Jeff and I have been building our empire for 6 years and it is time to complete our plans. I am delighted that you are choosing to witness and celebrate our union on May 9th 2026.
Our story started in the most unexpected place—Home Depot—in 2018. I was basically an
unofficial employee. I knew the aisles, the staff, and definitely made my rounds like I was on
payroll. One day during my routine visit, I spotted a new cashier. Of course, I walked over and
gave her the usual “main attraction” treatment, speaking to everyone around her—including her.
She didn’t say a word back. Nothing. Cold. But… she couldn’t take her eyes off me.
I finally asked,
some slick line like,
“If you’re not gonna speak, why are you staring so hard?” And she hit me with
“I’m trying to see who I’m speaking to.
” (Still not sure what that meant—but
it sounded bold enough to keep me interested.)
Fast forward a few months, I stopped by to visit my cousin Malik, and guess who was working a
register nearby? That same silent cashier. This time, she came over—yes, she came to
me—asking why I didn’t have on a coat. Clearly, she was looking for a reason to talk to me, and
I wasn’t about to waste the moment. I started a conversation like a gentleman should.
She told me she baked cakes, so naturally, I asked for some cream-filled cupcakes. That same
night, I added her on Facebook—minutes later, friend request accepted. The spark had officially
been lit.
But on a serious note—beyond the laughs, the cupcakes, and the trivia messages—there came
a point when I realized Kelly wasn’t just someone special… she was the one.
There were three life-altering events that showed me Kelly wasn’t just a girlfriend—she was my
partner, my strength, and my home. The most defining moment came in 2021, when I lost my
father. I fell into a dark place I didn’t know how to escape. But Kelly was there. She held my
hand when I couldn’t stand on my own. She didn’t just love me—she lifted me.
She has the kind of heart I never knew you needed—- until life gets real!
When I had absolutely nothing, she treated me like I had everything. Her love never wavered.
Her loyalty never cracked. And it was in those moments I realized: this is what forever looks like.
So on May 9, 2026, I’m not just showing up for a wedding—I’m showing up to make a vow. A
vow to give her everything her heart desires, to love her with the same strength she showed me,
and to walk hand-in-hand with her into every chapter that lies ahead.
Because she gave me everything—when I had nothing.
